About Us
Vision
Get paid for what we know.
Mission
Build the world’s first knowledge marketplace.
History
Knomad was founded by Vince McPhillip in 2018 to help people (including himself!) find more flexible and meaningful work. A Stanford paper on "Flash Teams" helped inspire Knomad’s first incarnation as a “flash consultancy” pairing university students with cryptocurrency projects.
Who We Serve - Knowledge Creators
Knomad serves knowledge creators. We believe that everyone knows something of value and that everyone deserves the opportunity to develop, share, and monetize their knowledge. We welcome knowledge creators across ages, geographies, fields and disciplines.
Problem - Monetizing Knowledge
Knowledge creators around the world want more rewarding and flexible work. Too often, pursuing our passions means sacrificing our finances and lifestyles. While we see some online personas building their own fanbase and income streams, there isn’t a clear path for knowledge creators to translate their expertise into sustainable income.
Solution - Knowledge Marketplace
We are building the world’s first knowledge marketplace to help people get paid for doing what they love. We believe that by better matching experts and seekers that we create many more opportunities for knowledge creators to monetize their expertise.
Product - Knomad Profiles
Knowledge creators can become a Knomad, or a participant in knowledge marketplace. Knomads create a digital profile (e.g., knomad.io/vince) which showcase their areas of expertise and allow others to book free or paid time with them. If you are interested in becoming a Knomad, you can join the waitlist. Our primary focus for Q2 2021 will be prototyping in search of the best tools that help Knomads unlock the value of their knowledge.
Team
Knomad is building a distributed organization. In addition to the founder, Vince, there are 5 other members contributing part time and many others community contributors. We will post more about the team as we continue to develop our online presence.
